Why I waited 10 years to teach 8 workshops in 1 year: 2024 Workshop Offerings

Before I was an EFT Trainer, I attended 10+ EFT workshops (many times the same one) because I was obsessed. I booked hotels and rental cars and flew across the country to soak up wisdom.

While assisting (for free) at my 12th workshop (yep obsessed), Dawson Church asked me: Do you ever want to teach one of these?

Gulp. I still felt imposter syndrome when a new client booked.

I didn’t think I could tap in front of an entire group, especially one with licensed therapists in it... something I am not and will most likely never be (I’ll save my reasons for another blog).

No matter how many times I repeated a workshop, I scribbled notes frantically.

Something magical and synergistic happens at EFT workshops.

Despite the trainers using the same PowerPoint slides with the same 1980s pic-art, some life-changing AHA would transform the way I worked with clients.

I answered with what felt true:

“Being at workshops is my happy place. I wish my life could be attending workshops.”

He told me that the next day he wanted me to teach a trauma tool called Tell the Story Technique.

I barely slept BUT dang I felt alive.

I survived my first tapping demo (the kind you’ll find in droves in any of my workshop portals), and I was hooked.

If he asked me again I would say boldly: YES! I want to teach EFT!

But I didn’t lead my first workshop until 2021, exactly 10 years after attending my first workshop.

Why?

  • I loved teaching… but I was turned off by booking a windowless AC-cranked hotel conference room (where ALL the workshops were held).

  • I loved in-person workshops… but the cost of flights and hotels was no joke: As a formerly broke part-time EFT practitioner, I wanted to offer a more affordable solution to people just getting started.

  • I’m a notetaker… but I couldn’t see myself teaching a PowerPoint that had 100 words on each slide: Not a dig, just a very visual person who doesn’t learn best that way.

I fantasized: What if I made a digital version of this EFT workshop? Modern? Pretty? Practical? Digestible in bite-size chunks? Rewatchable without requiring you to board a plane to rewatch the lessons?

  • As a visual learner and former graphic design major, I daydreamed about aesthetically pleasing workshop material.

  • As an ADD learner, who has a hard time focusing on lectures, I pondered how the course could be offered differently: Spread out over longer periods, watchable in smaller chunks, or rewatchable if you missed something if your brain started thinking about dinner and missed the last 10 minutes of your lecture ;)

Maybe I could leverage my “weakness” as a strength.

I wasn’t trained in Psychology. I was trained in journalism, graphic design, and web design. Being an unlicensed young person had made me too insecure to teach (for 10 years). Suddenly the thing that made me feel like an imposter, felt like a strength:

I could teach virtually, design easy-to-understand materials, record and upload bite-size lessons, and organize it all for endless rewatching in a pretty container of an online course portal.

Imposter Syndrome was replaced with a passion to serve people like me: Who needed a practical, visual, less-expensive format to watch and rewatch for as many years as their obsession to serve existed :)

When my current Website platform launched an Online Course function, the floodgates opened.

I could finally see how I could teach these in a way that I believe is how many people learn:

Visually.

Shorter videos.

Key takeaway and action step synopses.

Demos.

Rewatchable.

Printable cheat sheets.

Trackable progress.

Ability to ask questions and get answers (before, during, or after the workshop)

I may have delayed for 10 years later, but over the last 18 months I launched 8 Completely Digital EFT workshops and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you.

Let me reduce decision fatigue and ask: Which workshop sparks that “tell me more!” buzz?

Tip: The EFT Level 1&2 workshop isn’t a catchy title but it’s the workshop I assisted at nearly a dozen times because I couldn’t get enough. Level 1&2 contains THE foundation that I’ve seen change lives, relationships, and bank accounts.

  • If you’re new, start with the EFT Level 1&2 Workshop.

  • If you’re already trained in EFT, the EFT Expert Level 3 Workshop is the creme de la creme: It contains a robust integration of Inner Child, Energy Psychology, EMDR-based therapies, and everything I’ve nerded out on over the last decade.

  • If you are already trained in Levels 1, 2, and 3, it might be time to specialize.
